Café EZ

download-2One Sunday morning, I was trying to decide what I wanted to eat for breakfast before my hair appointment in Ellicott City, MD.  After a quick Yelp search, I was lead to Café EZ located at 329 North Ridge Road, Ellicott City, MD 21043.  The restaurant is located right across the street from the H-Mart on Route 40, the first left off of the Route 29 exit, and a few minutes the other direction from my recent addiction Bonchon!  I do not want to a place too fancy and this small café seemed to be a good fit and was not overly crowded which was a plus.

lsThey motto is that brunch is served all day and they have an abundance of crepe (both sweet and savory and brunch options. The café is small with a little under 10 tables.  The café had a lot of options and to choose from with drink refrigerators, pasties, and fresh fruit.  The customer service was pleasant and once I decided to eat there, I took a number and they brought the food directly to me with real silverware. The restroom was clean and well kept.  This was an overall nice café that I could visit time and time again.

Because I am focused on eating healthy options the majority of the time, I decided against the crepes and looked over the brunch menu options.  There were quite a few interesting options to choose from but I was most impressed by Maryland ($16) brunch dish.  It included a homemade jumbo lump crab cake with 2 eggs over easy on seasoned potatoes with peppers and onions with hollandaise sauce, tomatoes, spinach, cheddar cheese, old bay seasoning, and chives. My only regret was requesting the tomatoes because it was quite a few of them in the dish. But this dish was incredible! The crab cake was seasoned perfectly, the hollandaise sauce was enough that is was not overwhelming.  The spinach, onions, peppers, and potatoes were fresh and added great flavor.  The eggs were also an added bonus that added even more flavor. I was so very impressed with this restaurant.

I took the remainder of the meal to go since I needed to get to my appointment and my car and even the hair salon smelled of the delicious meal.  My friend even asked where I purchased it and said that it looked and smelled amazing. If you are in the area and want an awesome breakfast, I highly recommend stopping by this place and enjoying a good meal. The following is my Seven Mac Score for the restaurant:
